Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has been an important component in improving outcomes in patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. This session discusses the function and construction of Medtronic's electrochemical biosensor and diagnostic algorithms specific to the Guardian® Sensor (3), resulting in superior accuracy to enable a hybrid closed-loop system that automatically modulates basal insulin based on sensor glucose values.
