Consumer fitness wearables like Fitbit have had their ups and downs since they entered the scene a few years ago. But one promising area that has arisen is that of medical wearables. Research from Markets and Markets projects the global market for medical wearable devices to be $12.1 billion by 2021. In this session, panelists discuss wearables that are being used in the clinical setting to track and manage conditions from pregnancy to heart disease to diabetes. They also address the challenges associated with adoption in such how as accuracy, regulatory hurdles, security and workflow.
