Dr. Belov received M.S. in electronics (1981) and Ph.D. in microelectronics (1989) from Moscow Physics-Engineering institute (MPhEI). He works in the field of MEMS for 35+ years. His area of expertise includes pressure sensors, accelerometers, electrostatic and electromagnetic actuators.
In 1981-96 Nickolai held different engineering and management positions at MPhEI, including head of Sensoelectronics Lab position in 1992-96. In 1996 he moved with family to USA where he has been employed both by companies involved in volume manufacturing of MEMS devices (EG&G, Measurement Specialties, GE) and by startups (MegaSense, Nanochip). Currently he is wafer fab engineering manager at Amphenol NovaSensor.
